The Baseball Book

On April 9, 2008, the company I worked for had a little party in a rented skybox at Comisky Park (I refuse to call it U.S. Cellular Field), for the second home game of the Chicago White Sox season. This apparently left quite an impression on the Budding Artist, as, two weeks later, she illustrated the book as shown below, in it's entirety. Directly below is the cover.

This next page shows Avery shopping at the overly expensive gift shop store on the skybox level. We wound up here frequently. Which usually wound up with me dragging her pout-y face away with no purchases. Like I'm going to buy her a miniature wooden bat JUST the right size for her and Ethan to commence beatings on each other, Grand Theft Auto-style. In the picture below, there's a rack of two miniature bats, and her pointing out the kid's batting helmets (that come in White Sox "pink" colors) that would be "just perfect for her."

The next picture shows a very, all-too-frequent occurance; Daddy carrying a crabby Ethan around.

The next picture shows a happy time, with Daddy walking with doe-eyed happy Avery in one hand, and tears-streaming-down-his-face Ethan.

The skybox room number that we occupied was, I believe 424. This is the doorway. It was mentioned a lot, as in "Stop running around and get your butt into room 424!"

Here's a picture f Avery watching the baseball game (Action Packed!) through the skybox window. You can see the back of her head sitting the bank of two seats watching the game.

HOME RUN for the home team!!! Now Avery gets to watch the fireworks through the window.

And finally, the really important part of the skybox life. Eventually, the dessert cart makes it way to your room, where you ca have all sorts of goodies to choose from, including tickets to the make-your-own-sundae bar.

And yes, the dessert cart is big, so big in fact, that the lady pushing it truly IS about 3 feet off the ground.

We're Rocking Now

Just to let it be known, that even though I can barely get past most songs on the Medium setting, this picture PROVES that I rock at Guitar Hero.

Plus, I've got a little flying groupie.

Snake River Extravaganza

Sure, the Budding Artist claims that this is a picture of a farmer, and a fence, and his, well, animal, and hay stack.

But it plays much better as a wild burro watching Evil Knievel's famous jump.

Not just, ducks, but anchors, too!

And moose.

Note, off to the left side, two logos that you may recognize. Disney, and Quiznos. The current issue of Games Magazine had on their cover a series of "first-letters-of-logos" as a puzzle, where you had to determine all of the logo shown, based on the first letter.

These two were easily known by the Budding Artist.
