Flight of the Mosquito

Created September 28, 2006.

The Catch

Created Spetember 28, 2006

An intriguing sports entry breaks up a long series revolving around aquatic animals. This image perfectly captures the wonder and excitement of one of baseball's most memorable events; Willie Mays' impossible over-the-shoulder catch off of Vic Wertz's bat in Game 1 of the 1954 World Series.

If Willie Mays was a potato.

Lionfish, The Devourer of Small Ones

Created September 28, 2006.

Another in the Lionfish series. It's a rough world out there, and there's little room for those on the bottom of the food chain.

The Well of Lost Souls

Created Mid-September 2006

Just in time for Halloween...

Pity the poor souls, trapped on the small islands, surrounded by the purple hellfire waiting to consume them.

But mostly pity the poor guy on that central island who appears to have just recently exploded.

Lionfish, Dweller of the Deep

Created Mid-Spetember 2006

Yes, I know it looks more like a Lanternfish, but I was informed from the artist herself that it was a Lionfish.

Most likely influenced by this book, Mr. Seahorse, which is the current "must read before bedtime" book. There is no Lanternfish in the book, but there is a Lionfish.

A Flurry of Bats

Into the Teeth of the Storm

Created September 14, 2006

The full triptych put together. Note how the selection of the various shades of blue flow from one panel to the next, revealing the growth and anger of the inner storm within the artist.

Rhapsody in Purple

Created Early September, 2006

Note the use of having the subject be cut off on the top of the page, inorder to make the subject leap out at you. This technique is known as "missing the end of the paper and drawing on the table."

Egg Conundrum

Created Early September, 2006

In a world of uncertainty, a series of eggs have been cracked and left to their own accord. But for reason? And why have some seemeingly been marked for their existence to be ceased?

There were many picture along this line during the artist's "Egg Period." What could it all mean? A comment on the birth and life cycle, or merely because she finally figured out how to draw circles?

The Beheaded Duck

Created August 29th, 2006

Note the exaggerated flippers, demonstating the obvious loss this duck has had. Woe, the pain!
